The Langhe and Monferrato

A landscape of relationships and wine-growing tradition. History, tradition and culture merge in this magical corner of profound beauty, a sacred place for the world-famous wine and culinary tradition.

01

The best vineyards for premium wines

The Arione business has vineyards in the best Piedmont land, the Langhe and Monferrato, which has been suited to the highest quality wine production for a long, long time.

The Langhe terroir, mainly located in the province of Cuneo, is enclosed in a polygon bordered in the south by the Ligurian Alps, in the west by the Tanaro river, in the east by the Bormida di Spigno river, and, in the north, by the Tanaro river and the hills of Asti.

Monferrato, almost exclusively hilly, is instead mainly located within the provinces of Alessandria and Asti, and extends southwards, beginning from the right bank of the Po river, until reaching the foothills of the Ligurian Apennines on the border with the provinces of Genoa and Savona.

02

A precious land

In this region, the marl and sand formed a very long time ago have imparted the fragrances of violet and dried rose, flavours of fruit and ripe raspberry, to the roots of the Nebbiolo and Dolcetto vines, just like the Moscato and Barbera ones, which are typical of the area.

Here, enchanting panoramas strongly communicate their uniqueness and the depth of their roots, dug into the tuff, and it is right here that the two towns, in which the Arione family has its vineyards and wineries, rise up: Canelli, in the province of Asti, and Castiglione Tinella, in the province of Cuneo.
